night night!
summer bees. these micro-anthophoridae are bedding down for the night on a creosote branch. around dusk the bees would buzz around the creosote branches looking for a good place to clamp their mandibles for a good night’s rest. there were a couple hundred of these little guys sleeping over in my front yard for a few weeks.
these little guys were about the size of the “zero” key on your computer keyboard. very small, fuzzy bees.

very nice photo! They’ve got way cool eyes.
